CERVICAL CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME
Cervical Cancer Awareness Program, organised by AIM Foundation, for Anganwadi workers in Sankrail Block, Howrah, West Bengal on 23rd & 24th May, 2023 at Jhorehat FCA Indoor Hall, Andul.
Cervical cancer awareness programs play a vital role in educating women about the causes, prevention, and early detection of cervical cancer, which can help save lives.
During the two-day program, the Anganwadi workers received training and information on various aspects of cervical cancer, including its causes, risk factors, symptoms, and available preventive measures. They also learnt about the importance of regular screenings, such as Pap tests and HPV vaccinations, for early detection and prevention of cervical cancer.
Additionally, the program covered topics related to women's reproductive health, including menstrual hygiene, family planning, and general awareness about other for gynecological issues. The aim is to empower the Anganwadi workers with knowledge and resources to educate women in their communities about cervical cancer and encourage them to take appropriate measures for their health. Dr. Piyali Bhaduri has conducted this camp.
By organising such awareness programs, AIM Foundation contributes to raising awareness, reducing the stigma associated with cervical cancer, and promoting early detection and prevention strategies. These efforts can potentially lead to a significant reduction in the incidence and mortality rates of cervical cancer in the targeted region.
AIM Foundation is actively working towards improving women's health and well-being through initiatives like this.
